CT Chest Scan (HRCT, Contrast CT Scan)

A CT (Computed Tomography) Chest Scan is an advanced imaging technique that uses X- Rays and computer processing to create a detailed cross – sectional images of the chest organs. It gives much more detailed view than a regular Chest X –Ray and helps to detect, diagnose, and monitor lung, airway, heart, blood vessels and chest wall conditions.

HRTC (High – Resolution CT) Chest –

  1. It produces extremely detailed images of the lung tissues.
  2. It is best for evaluating interstitial lung diseases, fibrosis, bronchiectasis and early lung scarring.
  3. It is typically done without contrast.

Contrast – Enhanced CT (CECT) Chest

  1. It uses intravenous contrast dye to enhance the visibility of blood vessels, lymph nodes, tumors and infections.
  2. It is very ideal for evaluating cancers, infections, vascular conditions, and mediastinal structures.
